What is RocketReach?
RocketReach is a contact database and email and phone finder. You search for a person or company, and RocketReach returns verified business and personal email addresses and, on phone plans, phone numbers. It runs as a web app and a browser extension, with list building, email sending, CRM integrations, an API and an MCP server for AI assistants. The company has been in business since 2015 and describes itself as an email finder for sales and recruiting teams.
At the time of writing RocketReach says its database covers more than 700 million professionals and 60 million companies, with over 85 million profiles refreshed each month. Those are vendor figures. Data comes from scanning publicly available web sources such as corporate websites, social media and public records, plus a Community Program in which users who sign in with Google share business-card-style contact details.
The problem it solves is simple: you know who you want to reach, and you need a working email or direct dial. Unlike ZoomInfo, RocketReach has public prices and month-to-month billing, so one person can sign up, use it for a project and cancel.
Who it is for
- Account executives, SDRs and founders who prospect a few hundred people a month and want direct dials and verified emails without an annual enterprise contract.
- Recruiters sourcing candidates who do not respond on LinkedIn; RocketReach integrates with Bullhorn on Pro and Ultimate.
- Small sales and marketing teams enriching a CRM or a spreadsheet of leads through Upload List or the Salesforce and HubSpot integrations.
- People building AI workflows who want an assistant such as Claude or ChatGPT to look up contacts through the RocketReach MCP.
It is less suited to teams that want a full outbound platform in one subscription: RocketReach has Sequences, but no dialer and lighter campaign tools than Apollo.io. It is also not built for account-based marketing at scale with intent-led ad campaigns, which is ZoomInfo territory. Teams of several people need a custom plan, which removes the price transparency that makes the self-serve plans attractive.
Key features
- People Search and Company Search. Filter by title, seniority, location, company size, technologies and signals such as Job Postings, Job Changes, Company News and Company Intent. An AI-enabled search bar turns a plain-English request into filters.
- Email and phone grades. Each result carries a letter grade, and you can set a minimum Email Grade or Phone Grade. RocketReach claims 98% deliverability for A-grade emails; that is a vendor claim.
- Browser Extension. Look up the person whose profile or company page you are viewing, with Add or Add All Contacts to save them to a list.
- Upload List. Enrich a CSV of names and companies or a list of LinkedIn profile URLs with emails and phones.
- Autopilot. Turns a saved search into a list automatically, once or on a schedule, with optional CRM sync and an email step. Each run builds at least 25 and at most 10,000 contacts on self-serve plans. Active recurring Autopilots: 5 on Essentials, 10 on Pro, 25 on Ultimate.
- Messages and Sequences. Send emails and multi-step sequences from a connected mailbox, with an AI email writer. Paid plans can send up to 500 emails in a rolling 24 hours.
- Integrations. Salesforce, HubSpot, Salesloft, Outreach, Zapier and Bullhorn on Pro and Ultimate. Ultimate adds Salesforce custom mapping, suppression lists, SSO and advanced team management. Essentials has no CRM integrations.
- RocketReach MCP and Verify. The MCP server connects Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or any MCP-capable tool on every plan; each record accessed costs one credit and MCP credits are not refundable. RocketReach Verify checks email addresses and can be called through the API or MCP.
Ultimate also includes Intent Data (35,000+ topics) and Healthcare data.
Pricing
All self-serve plans are for one seat. Prices are in US dollars at the time of writing, read from the data RocketReach’s pricing page loads.
| Plan | Monthly billing | Annual billing | Monthly plan | Annual plan | Data |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | - | A few email-only lookups, issued in three sets in total | - | Email only |
| Essentials | $69/month | $399/year | 100 lookups and exports per month | Unlimited lookups (fair use 10,000/month), 1,200 exports/year | Email only |
| Pro | $119/month | $899/year | 250 lookups and exports per month | Unlimited lookups, 3,600 exports/year | Email + phone |
| Ultimate | $209/month | $1,699/year | 1,000 lookups and exports per month | Unlimited lookups, 20,000 exports/year | Email + phone |
Annual billing works out at about $34, $75 and $142 a month. Custom, team and API plans (API plans use Universal Credits) are sold through sales without public prices.
How credits are spent. A lookup (Get Contact Info in the web app, Add in the extension) costs one credit only if at least one verified email, or phone on a phone plan, comes back, and never twice for the same profile. Failed lookups are refunded automatically, which can take up to an hour. Searching is free. Exports, meaning CSV downloads, Upload List enrichment, Autopilot, CRM sync, API retrieval and MCP access, use export credits on annual plans and lookup credits on monthly and free plans.
Rollover. Monthly plans roll unused lookups over for up to 12 months, oldest first. Annual plans do not roll over, and rollovers are lost when you cancel.
Trial. Every plan’s trial includes 50 lookups, and phone-plan trials include 50 phone lookups. You are not charged if you cancel before the trial ends; the rest of the first month’s credits unlock afterwards. The trial length is shown only as a date at checkout, so we cannot state it in days.
How to use RocketReach: step-by-step
1. Sign up and choose a plan
- Create a free account to test search quality in your market. Free lookups are email-only, so try a handful of people you already know to judge accuracy.
- If results look good, start a trial of the plan you expect to keep. Choose Pro if you need phone numbers or a CRM integration; Essentials covers neither.
- Decide monthly or annual. Monthly is safer for most individuals because unused lookups roll over; annual makes sense only if you will look up many contacts inside the app and export relatively few.
- Install the Browser Extension from the RocketReach site.
2. Find contacts with People Search
- Open People Search and type a plain request into the AI search bar, for example “VP of Marketing at SaaS companies in Canada with 50 to 200 employees”. Check the filters it creates and adjust them.
- Add signal filters where relevant: Job Changes for people new in their role, Job Postings for companies hiring in your area, Technologies for companies using a tool you integrate with.
- Set a minimum Email Grade (and Phone Grade on phone plans) so you only spend credits on strong data.
- Click Get Contact Info on the people you want. You are charged only if a verified result comes back.
- Save them to a list for follow-up.
3. Enrich an existing list with Upload List
- Prepare a CSV with first name, last name and company (or company domain), or a list of LinkedIn profile URLs.
- Use Upload List and map the columns.
- Check how many records it will process before you confirm. Every enriched record is an export, so on an annual plan it draws from the yearly export balance.
- Download the enriched file or sync it to your CRM (Pro and Ultimate).
4. Automate list building with Autopilot and Sequences
- Save a search you trust, then create an Autopilot from it. Choose to run it once or on a schedule.
- Set the number of contacts per run (minimum 25) and, on Pro or Ultimate, turn on auto-sync to Salesforce or HubSpot.
- Optionally add an email step, or build a Sequence from a connected mailbox and use the AI email writer for a first draft. Edit it before sending.
- Watch credit usage after the first run. Autopilot exports count against your balance on every run.
Tips to get better results
- Understand lookups vs exports before buying annual. “Unlimited” refers to lookups in the app. CSV, CRM, API, MCP and Autopilot all use the capped export balance.
- Filter by grade first. A minimum Email Grade of A or A- cuts bounces and avoids wasting lookups on weak records.
- Look up, then decide what to export. On an annual plan, review contacts in the app and export only the ones you will contact.
- Use the extension for one-offs. It is faster than a search when you are already on someone’s profile or company page.
- Be careful with MCP. Each record an AI assistant pulls costs a credit, and MCP credits are not refunded, so give the assistant narrow instructions.
- Verify before large sends. Run RocketReach Verify or your own check on older lists; people change jobs and addresses decay.
- Use a dedicated sequencer for volume. Sequences are fine for small campaigns; for deliverability tools and multichannel steps, pair RocketReach with Reply.io or lemlist. Our Reply.io vs lemlist comparison covers the trade-offs.
Limitations and common problems
- Export caps on annual plans. The most common surprise. Workaround: if you sync heavily to a CRM, compare the annual export allowance with your real monthly volume, or stay on monthly billing.
- No phones on Essentials. If you call prospects, Essentials is the wrong plan, however cheap the annual price looks.
- Single-seat plans. Each self-serve plan covers one user. Teams that want shared billing, SSO or central management need Ultimate features or a custom plan from sales.
- Daily caps. Plans carry daily search and API limits, which matter only for heavy automated use; check them if you plan to script against the API.
- Data accuracy varies. RocketReach’s own grades show some records are weaker than others. Expect some bounces and wrong numbers, especially for small companies and less-covered regions.
- Compliance is on you. RocketReach offers a setting to hide EU individuals from search results and says users are responsible for their own GDPR compliance. We found no SOC 2 or ISO certification on its site, which may matter for security reviews.

Verdict
Sign up for RocketReach if you are an individual seller, founder or recruiter who needs verified emails and direct dials every week and wants clear prices and the option to cancel. The monthly Pro plan is the sensible default: phones, CRM integrations and rollover of unused lookups. Choose an annual plan only after checking that the export allowance covers what you will push to your CRM, API or AI tools.
Skip it if you need an all-in-one outbound platform with dialing (Apollo.io fits better), enterprise intent data and ABM (ZoomInfo), or formal security certifications for a procurement review.
Frequently asked questions
Is RocketReach free?
There is a free account that gives a small number of email-only lookup credits, issued in three sets in total rather than every month, with no phone numbers. Paid plans start at $69 per month (Essentials) or $399 per year, and the trial includes 50 lookups.
How much does RocketReach cost?
At the time of writing, Essentials costs $69 per month or $399 per year, Pro $119 per month or $899 per year, and Ultimate $209 per month or $1,699 per year, each for one seat. Team, custom and API plans are priced through sales.
What is the difference between a lookup and an export on RocketReach?
A lookup reveals a contact's email or phone inside RocketReach. An export moves data out: a CSV download, Upload List enrichment, Autopilot, a CRM sync, the API or the MCP server. On monthly plans both use the same lookup credits. On annual plans lookups are unlimited (fair use 10,000 a month) but exports are capped at 1,200, 3,600 or 20,000 a year.
Do unused RocketReach credits roll over?
On monthly Essentials, Pro and Ultimate plans, unused lookups roll over for up to 12 months, oldest first. Annual plans do not roll over, and rolled-over credits are lost if you cancel.
Does RocketReach include phone numbers?
Only on Pro and Ultimate, which RocketReach labels Pro + Phone and Ultimate + Phone. Essentials and the free account return email addresses only.
How do I remove my profile from RocketReach?
Anyone can request removal at rocketreach.co/remove-profile, which verifies your email address and does not need an account. US residents can also use the Do Not Sell or Share My Info tool, or email [email protected].
