What is Shorby?

Shorby is a link-in-bio tool. Instagram and most other social apps give you one clickable link in your profile; Shorby turns that link into a small mobile page, which it calls a Shor Page (or smart page), with buttons for your messengers, your latest content, your products and your other social profiles. The product now runs under the name Shor.: shorby.com redirects straight to the app at dash.shor.by, and the help centre at help.shor.by uses the Shor. name throughout. This guide uses “Shorby” because that is still what most people search for.

The company behind it is Dream Prints Inc., which its Terms of Use list with an address in Cheyenne, Wyoming. The privacy policy says customer data is transferred to and processed in Germany.

The problem Shorby solves is the single-link bottleneck. If you sell through Instagram, followers want to message you, see your newest video or buy the product from your last post, and changing the bio link every day is tedious. A Shor Page puts all of those options behind one link, keeps parts of itself up to date automatically, and records how many people clicked each item.

Shorby is not an AI tool. There is no writing assistant or generative feature; it is a marketing utility, and you should judge it on page features, analytics and price.

Who it is for

  • Instagram and YouTube creators who want followers to reach their latest video, newsletter sign-up and brand-deal contact form from one link.
  • Small shops and service businesses that take orders or bookings through WhatsApp, email or phone. Shorby’s Messengers section is built for exactly this: one tap opens a chat.
  • Shopify sellers who want their newest products to appear on the bio page without editing it by hand.
  • Marketers running paid social who want to drop ad pixels on bio-link visitors and retarget them later.
  • Agencies managing bio pages for several clients, with separate projects and team access on the Agency plan.

Who should not use it: anyone who just needs a plain list of five links, since free link-in-bio plans exist elsewhere and Shorby has none. If what you really want is automated replies to comments and DMs, a chat automation tool such as Manychat fits better; the two can work together, with the bio link handling clicks and Manychat handling conversations. Teams that need an API or a full landing page builder should also look elsewhere.

Key features

  • Shor Page Builder. Each page is built from three sections: Messengers (direct contact buttons such as WhatsApp, email and phone), Blocks (links, images, video, text, products and RSS content) and Social Links (icons for your other profiles). You arrange them in the builder and style the page under Settings & Style.
  • Dynamic Feeds. Blocks that update themselves from YouTube, an RSS or WordPress feed, Apple Podcasts or a Shopify store. Publish a new video or add a product and it appears on your page without any editing. The app’s plan configuration allows 5 feeds on Pro and Agency.
  • Rich links and commerce blocks. Links with images (rich links), price tags, a countdown block for launches and sales, and a pop-up block for announcements.
  • QR codes and short links. Shorby generates a QR code for your page and can create short links, which is useful for printed materials and packaging.
  • Click insights. Click statistics per page and per item. Shorby says it detects bot clicks by user agent and does not count them toward your plan’s click limit.
  • Pixels and Google Analytics. Add ad tracking pixels to build retargeting audiences from people who visit your page: 1 platform on Rocket and 7 on Pro and Agency. Google Analytics integration is on Pro and above.
  • Custom domains (beta). Serve your page from your own domain or subdomain instead of shor.by. The help centre lists this as a Pro feature.
  • Projects and Teams. The Agency plan separates clients into projects and allows up to 10 team members per project.

Pricing

Shorby has no free plan. The help centre offers a 5-day trial of the Rocket plan, payment is by card through Stripe only (no PayPal), and fees already paid are non-refundable except where the law requires otherwise. Prices below were checked on the public pricing table and in the app’s own pricing page, at the time of writing.

PlanMonthlyAnnual billingTracked clicksPagesRich links per pageNotable extras
Rocket$15/month$144/year ($12/month)10,0005101 ad pixel platform
Pro$29/month$288/year ($24/month)30,00050507 pixel platforms, Google Analytics, 5 Dynamic Feeds, custom domain; extra 30,000 clicks for $9
Agency$99/month$984/year ($82/month)1,000,000250500Projects and Teams (up to 10 members per project); extra projects from $9 down to $3/month each

A few notes on the table:

  • Annual billing saves roughly 20% against monthly on these prices; the help centre says “up to 22%”.
  • Agency add-on projects cost $9 a month each for the 6th to 20th project, $6 for the 21st to 100th and $3 from the 101st.
  • The old “Start” plan. The public table on shorby.com/instagram still shows a $9 Start plan, but it is hidden in the app and the help centre lists only Rocket, Pro and Agency. Treat it as unavailable to new sign-ups.
  • Non-profits can request a lifetime Rocket plan, according to Shorby.

For most creators the real choice is Rocket versus Pro. Rocket is enough for a single page with a handful of links. Pro is the plan to buy if you want Dynamic Feeds, Google Analytics, more retargeting platforms or your own domain, or if your posts regularly send more than 10,000 clicks a month. Check dash.shor.by/pricing before you buy, as prices change.

How to use Shorby: step-by-step

The steps below follow Shorby’s help centre. Menu names are the ones the help centre uses; the app may label a few items slightly differently.

1. Sign up and start the trial

  1. Go to shorby.com, which opens the Shor. app at dash.shor.by, and create an account.
  2. Start the 5-day Rocket trial. Shorby’s public pages do not currently say clearly whether a card is needed to start, so check the sign-up screen and set a reminder before the trial ends.
  3. Decide whether you will need Pro features (feeds, analytics, custom domain) so you can test them before paying.

2. Build your Shor Page

  1. Open the Shor Page Builder.
  2. In Messengers, add the ways people should contact you: for example a WhatsApp button with your business number, an email button and a phone button. Put the one you actually answer first.
  3. In Blocks, add your links. Use rich links (with an image) for the two or three things you most want clicked, such as your latest offer or booking page, and plain links for the rest. Add a video, text, product or countdown block where it helps.
  4. In Social Links, add icons for your other profiles, such as YouTube, TikTok or a podcast.
  5. Open Settings & Style to pick a theme and adjust the look so the page matches your brand.

3. Add a Dynamic Feed

  1. In Blocks, add a feed block and choose the source: YouTube, RSS or WordPress, Apple Podcasts or Shopify.
  2. Connect the channel, feed URL or store.
  3. Check the preview: your latest videos, posts, episodes or products should appear. From now on the block updates itself when you publish.

4. Add tracking

  1. Add your ad pixel (for example Facebook) in the page’s pixel settings so visitors join a retargeting audience.
  2. On Pro or above, connect Google Analytics to see bio-link traffic next to your website traffic.
  3. Make sure your own privacy notice covers pixel tracking if your audience includes visitors from the EU.
  1. Copy your Shor Page link.
  2. On Instagram, edit your profile (on the web, instagram.com/accounts/edit) and paste the link into the Website field.
  3. Do the same on TikTok, YouTube or any other profile that accepts a link, and print the page’s QR code where useful.

6. Connect a custom domain (optional, Pro)

  1. At your domain registrar, add an A record for a root domain, or a CNAME record pointing a subdomain (such as links.yourbrand.com) to cname.shor.by.
  2. In Shorby, open Project Settings > Custom domains (beta) and add the domain.
  3. Wait for DNS to propagate; the help centre says this can take 6 to 72 hours.

Tips to get better results

  • Lead with one action. A page with twenty equal links converts worse than one with a clear first choice. Put your main goal in the first rich link or messenger button.
  • Match the page to the post. When a post promotes a specific product, move that product to the top for the week and mention it in the caption.
  • Use feeds instead of manual updates. If you publish on YouTube or Shopify every week, a Dynamic Feed keeps the page current without effort.
  • Read the click insights weekly. Remove links nobody clicks; they push the useful ones down.
  • Watch your click count. If you are near the limit, upgrade before a big campaign rather than after.
  • Set up pixels before you advertise. Retargeting audiences only start filling once the pixel is live.
  • Use a subdomain for the custom domain. A CNAME on a subdomain is easier to set up than moving a root domain, and it leaves your main website untouched.

Limitations and common problems

  • No free plan. The 5-day trial is short. Build the page and test feeds and pixels in the first two days.
  • Click caps. A viral post can exhaust Rocket’s 10,000 tracked clicks. Pro users can buy more clicks; Rocket users need to upgrade.
  • Custom domains are in beta. Expect the occasional rough edge, and allow up to 72 hours for DNS. The public pricing table still says custom domains are “Soon”, which is out of date.
  • No public API. The help centre confirms there is none, so you cannot update pages from your own systems.
  • Stripe card payments only. There is no PayPal option.
  • Sparse public information. The homepage redirects to the app, the public pricing table still shows the hidden Start plan, and there is no changelog. Use the help centre and the in-app pricing page as the reference.
  • Data and privacy. Shorby’s privacy policy dates from 2021 and lists sub-processors including Stripe, Google Analytics, Facebook, Intercom, Yandex Metrika and PartnerStack. No SOC 2 or similar certification is claimed.

Alternatives

  • Linktree - the best-known link-in-bio tool, with a free plan; a good choice if you only need a list of links.
  • Beacons - link-in-bio with a free plan and built-in creator store features.
  • Manychat - not a bio page but chat automation; better if you want comments and DMs to send links automatically.
  • Kit - email marketing for creators, with landing pages; pair it with a bio link to grow a newsletter.
  • Leadpages - a full landing page builder if one bio page is too limited for your offer.

Verdict

Sign up for Shorby if you sell or build an audience on Instagram or YouTube and want a bio page that does more than list links: messenger buttons for WhatsApp orders, feeds that update themselves, and pixels for retargeting. Pro is the plan that unlocks most of that. Skip it if a simple free link list is enough, if you need an API, or if your traffic is so spiky that click caps would keep forcing upgrades.

Frequently asked questions

Is Shorby free?

No. Shorby's help centre says there is no free plan. You can try the Rocket plan for 5 days, and after that the cheapest plan is Rocket at $15 a month, or $12 a month billed annually, at the time of writing.

What is the difference between Shorby and Shor.?

They are the same product. Shor. (shor.by) is the current brand name of Shorby, and shorby.com now redirects to the Shor. app at dash.shor.by. The help centre and app use the Shor. name throughout.

Can I use my own domain with Shorby?

Yes, in beta. Point your domain to Shor. with an A record, or a subdomain with a CNAME record to cname.shor.by, then add it under Project Settings > Custom domains (beta). The help centre lists custom domains as a Pro feature and says DNS changes can take 6 to 72 hours.

Does Shorby work for TikTok and YouTube as well as Instagram?

Yes. A Shor Page is an ordinary web link, so you can paste it into any profile that accepts a website link. Shorby's own marketing focuses on Instagram, and its Dynamic Feeds can pull in your latest YouTube videos automatically.

What counts as a tracked click on Shorby?

Plans are capped by the clicks Shorby tracks on your pages: 10,000 on Rocket, 30,000 on Pro and 1,000,000 on Agency at the time of writing. Shorby says it filters out bot clicks by user agent so they do not count toward your limit, and Pro users can buy an extra 30,000 clicks for $9.
