What is Birch?

Birch is an ad automation platform for paid social and performance marketing teams. Until recently it was called Revealbot. You connect ad accounts on Meta, Google Ads, TikTok and Snapchat, and Birch runs condition-based rules that pause ads, change budgets and adjust bids for you, around the clock. On top of rules it adds bulk ad creation, creative reporting, server-side conversion tracking and an AI assistant called Birch AI.

Birch is made by Birch Team, Inc., a Delaware company based in Covina, California, with an EU entity, Revealbot S.L., in Barcelona that handles EEA, UK and Swiss contacts and euro billing. The app runs in the browser at app.bir.ch.

The problem Birch solves is the manual work of watching ad accounts. Media buyers spend hours checking which ad sets have overspent, which ads have fatigued and where budget should move. Rules turn those checks into automatic actions: if cost per purchase rises above a threshold over the last three days, lower the budget; if return on ad spend is strong, scale it. Birch then logs every action so you can see what changed and why.

Who it is for

  • Media buyers responsible for budgets across several ad accounts who want guardrails that act faster than a daily check.
  • Performance agencies running many client accounts, where cross-account rules and Workspaces save real time.
  • Brands launching many ads at once, using Stage templates fed from Google Drive and Google Sheets.
  • App marketers who want rules to use attribution data from AppsFlyer, Adjust or Hyros instead of platform-reported numbers.

Birch is a weaker fit for small advertisers who change their campaigns once a week, as Meta’s own automated rules may be enough. Because pricing scales with ad spend, it is also not cheap for high spenders on monthly billing. And Birch is not primarily a creative tool: if your problem is producing and grading new ad creative, a creative platform such as Atria is the better match.

Key features

  • Rules (in Performance). Automated rules with nested conditions, custom metrics and more than 20 actions, such as pausing ads or changing budgets and bids. Rules can check as often as every 15 minutes, run across accounts and use AppsFlyer, Adjust or Hyros data. Rules and strategies are a Pro feature.
  • Birch AI. The AI assistant on the Home tab, also available from a button at the top right. It analyses performance across Meta, TikTok, Google, Snapchat, Facebook Pages and Google Analytics, audits your rules and drafts new ones from plain-language requests. With Meta’s ads MCP connected, it can act on the Meta account directly.
  • Stage. Bulk-upload and launch ads from Google Drive and Google Sheets using templates. Pro includes a free version of Stage.
  • Launcher. Generates multiple ad variations and creative combinations for Meta.
  • Explorer. Creative performance and fatigue reporting, so you can see which creatives are wearing out.
  • Workspaces, Highlights and reports. Group ad accounts into Workspaces, see key changes in Highlights, and build reports. Pro adds custom metrics and timeframes and top audiences.
  • Hub. Server-side conversion tracking through Meta Conversions API (Signals Gateway), priced separately by events.
  • Birch MCP. Connect Claude.ai, ChatGPT, Claude Code or Codex. It reads rules, logs and account structure and can toggle, rename, duplicate or move existing rules, but cannot create rules or change budgets or conditions.

A scheduled workflow feature called Routines is labelled “Soon” at the time of writing.

Pricing

Birch prices by monthly ad spend across all connected ad accounts; only accounts assigned to a Workspace count. There are two self-serve plans, Essential and Pro, and annual billing is shown as “-20%” (the FAQ also describes it as 12 months for the price of 11). Prices below are in US dollars at the time of writing.

Monthly ad spend up toEssential (monthly)Essential (annual, per month)Pro (monthly)Pro (annual, per month)
$10K$49$45$99$91
$30K$149$137$249$228

$500KNot availableNot available$1,799$1,649
Above $500KNot availableNot availableEnterprise (custom)Enterprise (custom)

The plans differ more than the prices suggest. Essential covers Workspaces and Highlights, post boosting, reports, the activity page, Slack and email support. Pro adds automated rules and strategies, Explorer, Launcher, Stage (free version), top audiences, custom metrics and timeframes, the custom and lookalike audience builder, integrations such as Google Sheets, AppsFlyer and Hyros, and live chat support. If you want automation, you need Pro.

Overages apply only to monthly plans: if your spend exceeds your tier, you pay a percentage of the overspend, from 1% at Pro’s $10K tier down to 0.36% at $500K, and 0.49% down to 0.33% on Essential. Annual plans have no overages; instead, rules, post boosting and reports keep running but cannot be edited or created until the next month. Enterprise has no limits and no overages.

Hub is billed separately: 10,000 events a month are free, then $10 (500K events), $49 (5M), $149 (20M), $249 (50M) or $499 (150M), with no overage fees. New customers with an EU billing address are billed in euros by Birch’s EU entity from 13 October 2026. The 14-day trial includes all features with no card; after it, rules and reports are disabled until you pick a plan. Check bir.ch/pricing before you buy.

How to use Birch: step-by-step

1. Sign up and connect platforms

  1. Go to bir.ch and sign up with your email. No card is needed for the 14-day trial.
  2. Open Settings > Platforms and connect Meta, Google, TikTok or Snapchat. Connect Slack, Google Analytics, AppsFlyer or Hyros here too if you use them.
  3. Make sure each ad account is assigned to a Workspace. Only assigned accounts are managed, and only they count toward your ad-spend tier.

2. Get your bearings with Birch AI

  1. Open the Home tab and ask Birch AI a question about recent performance, for example “Which Meta ad sets had the highest cost per purchase in the last 7 days?”
  2. Use the answer to decide where a rule would help most. Wasted spend on fatigued ads is the usual first target.

3. Create your first automated rule

  1. Go to Performance and create a new rule.
  2. Choose the ad accounts and the campaigns, ad sets or ads the rule should watch.
  3. Set the conditions. Start simple: for example, spend in the last 3 days above a set amount and purchases equal to zero.
  4. Pick the action, such as pause the ad or lower the budget by a percentage, and set how often the rule checks (as often as every 15 minutes).
  5. Save the rule. If you connected Slack, use it to keep an eye on activity, and review the logs for the first few days before adding more rules.

4. Let Birch AI draft and audit rules

  1. Describe the rule you want in plain language, for example “Scale ad sets by 20% when ROAS over the last 3 days is above 3, at most once a day”.
  2. Birch AI drafts the rule. Read every condition before you enable it; a missing time window or cap is the most common problem with any automated rule.
  3. Ask Birch AI to audit your existing rules for overlaps or conflicts once you have more than a handful.

5. Launch ads in bulk with Stage

  1. Put your creatives in a Google Drive folder and your ad copy and settings in a Google Sheet.
  2. In Stage, choose or build a template that maps the sheet’s columns to ad fields.
  3. Preview the ads, then launch. Use Launcher if you want Birch to generate creative combinations for Meta from a set of assets.

6. Watch creatives with Explorer and reports

  1. Open Explorer to see which creatives perform and which are fatiguing.
  2. Build a report with the metrics your team or client cares about, using custom metrics and timeframes on Pro.
  3. Feed what you learn back into your rules, for example pausing ads once fatigue sets in.

7. Connect Birch MCP (optional)

In Claude.ai, open Customize > Connectors > Add custom connector and enter https://mcp.bir.ch/mcp. You can then ask Claude about your rules and logs or toggle and rename rules. It cannot create rules or change budgets, so do those in Birch itself.

Tips to get better results

  • Start with protective rules. Rules that stop wasted spend are lower risk than rules that scale budgets up.
  • Always set a time window and a cap. “ROAS above 3 over 3 days, at most once a day” behaves far better than “ROAS above 3”.
  • Use attribution data where you have it. Rules based on AppsFlyer, Adjust or Hyros data avoid reacting to noisy platform numbers.
  • Read the logs weekly. Every rule action is recorded; check that rules are doing what you meant.
  • Pick billing with overages in mind. If your spend swings, annual billing avoids overage fees, but rules freeze for editing when you exceed your tier.
  • Keep Workspaces tidy. Unassigned accounts are not managed, and assigned ones count toward your tier.
  • Name rules clearly. Good names make Birch AI audits and MCP lookups much easier to follow.

Limitations and common problems

  • Cost rises with spend. Pricing follows ad spend, and monthly plans add overage fees. Model the cost at your expected spend, not today’s.
  • Automation needs Pro. Essential has no automated rules. Do not buy Essential expecting automation.
  • The trial ends hard. After 14 days, rules and reports are disabled until you pick a plan. Decide before the end of the trial if live campaigns depend on rules.
  • Unlinking deletes data. Unlinking an ad account from a Workspace turns its rules into drafts and permanently deletes its reports, custom metrics and launch templates. Export what you need first.
  • MCP is read-mostly. Birch MCP cannot create rules or change budgets or conditions.
  • Old Revealbot links. Some links still point to help.revealbot.com; use help.bir.ch for current documentation.
  • AI data processing. The privacy policy (updated 14 October 2026) names OpenAI for the rule-drafting agent, Stage and routines, Google Vertex AI as a fallback and EU-hosted Langfuse for agent logs, with AI logs kept no longer than 90 days. It does not say whether Birch trains its own models on customer data, and no SOC 2 or ISO claim was found.

Alternatives

  • Atria - the creative counterpart: Radar grades ads, Inspo tracks competitors, and Creation generates new image ads to publish to Meta.
  • Meta Ads Manager automated rules - free and built in, enough for a few simple rules on one account.
  • Unbounce - if your ads already run well and conversion on the landing page is the weak point.
  • Landingi - a lower-cost landing page builder with A/B testing for campaign traffic.

Verdict

Sign up for Birch if you manage meaningful spend across several ad accounts and want rules to protect and scale budgets while you sleep. Use the trial to build two or three rules, test Stage with one batch of ads and read the logs, then budget for Pro, because that is where automation lives. Skip Birch if you only run a few campaigns and Meta’s built-in rules will do, or if creative production is your real problem; Atria is built for that.
