What is BidX?

BidX is software that automates Amazon advertising. It creates, bids and optimises Sponsored Products, Sponsored Brands, Sponsored Display and Amazon DSP campaigns using rules you set and its own bidding algorithm, and it adds reporting and Amazon Marketing Cloud (AMC) reports on top. It is made by BidX GmbH, a company founded in 2018 and based in Darmstadt, Germany, and it describes itself as an Amazon Advanced Partner. It is a third-party tool, not an Amazon product.

You can buy it in two ways. On the Self Service Platform you run the software yourself, with a Growth Manager for strategy calls. On the managed plans, BidX staff run the account for you on the same platform, with a set number of strategy calls and hours of help each month.

The problem it solves is scale. A catalogue with hundreds of products and thousands of keywords produces more bid decisions than a person can make by hand. BidX turns your targets into rules that adjust bids and budgets overnight, keeps a log of every change, and since August 2026 adds an AI layer, BidX Intelligence, that summarises what changed and suggests what to do next.

Who it is for

  • Amazon brands and sellers with meaningful ad budgets, roughly the point where a four-figure monthly base fee plus a percentage of spend still pays for itself in saved time and better bids.
  • Brands running Amazon DSP as well as Sponsored Ads, who want display, video and retargeting campaigns managed in the same tool as search ads.
  • Agencies managing several Amazon accounts. BidX supports multiple clients, roles and permissions, and shared reporting.
  • Teams that want people as well as software. The Managed Platform and Managed Service plans add BidX staff time each month.
  • Smaller sellers under $10,000 a month in ad spend can look at the cheaper BidX Essential plan, which covers the dashboard and automated bidding.

It is not a good fit if you sell mainly on your own website, if your Amazon ad spend is small, or if you need self-service Walmart or TikTok Shop advertising; BidX offers Walmart only as a managed service. For tools outside Amazon advertising, browse our marketing tools directory.

Key features

  • Search Ads automation. Covers Sponsored Products, Sponsored Brands (including video, Store Spotlight and Product Collection formats) and Sponsored Display. Bids are adjusted by BidX’s algorithm and your rules, and changes are pushed to Amazon overnight.
  • Campaign Creator. Builds new campaigns inside BidX so you do not have to set up each campaign, ad group and target in the Amazon console. BidX claims campaign creation is up to 12 times faster; that is a vendor figure.
  • Segment Management with Automations & Rules. Group campaigns or products into segments and apply rules to them, for example bid and budget changes based on performance. This is where you control what the automation is allowed to do.
  • Keyword Management. Manage keywords and negatives across campaigns. BidX says its keyword suggestions are informed by ChatGPT.
  • Adjustment Logs. A record of every change BidX made, with the option to undo. This is the feature to check first when performance moves unexpectedly.
  • Display & Video Ads (Amazon DSP). Create DSP orders and automate bids and budgets for retargeting, loyalty, awareness and consideration campaigns. The DSP Managed Service adds video placements on Prime, Twitch and Freevee, and AMC access.
  • BidX Intelligence. Launched on 19 August 2026. The Daily Brief lists overnight changes ranked by value; Chat answers questions about your account and explains why the automation changed something; and four agents (Keyword Researcher, Paid Search Specialist, Programmatic specialist and CRO) analyse and recommend. At launch it only read and recommended; BidX announced approve-and-act for September 2026.
  • BidX MCP (beta). An invite-only connector, announced on 15 July 2026, that gives Claude or another MCP-compatible AI client read-only SQL access to your Amazon Ads data, using your BidX login rather than API keys.
  • Dashboard & Reporting. Custom reports and analytics across accounts, plus Amazon Marketing Cloud Default Reports as a paid extra.

Pricing

BidX’s main plans are priced in euros, excluding VAT, and every main plan is a base fee plus a percentage of connected ad spend. BidX does not publish that percentage. Plans run on an annual commitment with monthly payments. Figures below are from the vendor’s pricing page and Essentials page at the time of writing.

Extras and terms worth knowing:

  • Amazon Marketing Cloud: Default Reports cost €295 (the billing period is not stated); custom reports are on request.
  • Share of Voice add-on: the first 100 keywords are free, then $250 a month per extra 500 keywords.
  • Custom pricing is available for high ad spend and large agencies.
  • Payment by Visa, Mastercard, AMEX, direct debit or SEPA/ACH. Invoices are emailed and stored under Settings > Billing & Payments, where you can also enter vouchers.
  • Trial: the help centre describes a free 5-day trial with no payment details; the pricing page FAQ mentions a paid three-month proof of concept. Confirm which you are offered.

Because the ad-spend percentage is unpublished, you cannot compare BidX’s total cost with flat-fee tools until you have a quote. Ask for it in writing, and model it at your expected spend for the full contract year.

How to use BidX: step-by-step

These steps follow BidX’s knowledge base articles on getting started and subscribing.

  1. Register. Sign up at app.bidx.io with an email and password, then confirm your address through the link BidX emails you. The 5-day trial starts here, without payment details.
  2. Connect Amazon. Complete the short setup on first login and click Login with Amazon to connect your Amazon Seller or Vendor account.
  3. Wait for the data import. BidX says it takes about 30 minutes to transfer the last 90 days of data. Bid and budget adjustments are pushed to Amazon overnight, so expect changes the next day rather than instantly.
  4. Review your imported campaigns. Your existing campaigns appear in BidX. Check that the structure and numbers match what you see in the Amazon console.
  5. Build your first report. Open Dashboard & Reporting and set up a view of the metrics you care about, such as spend, sales and ACOS or TACoS, so you have a baseline before automation starts.
  6. Optional: book the free audit or a demo. BidX offers a free account audit and demo calls, which are worth taking before you commit to a plan.
  7. Subscribe. Click the arrow icon at the top right, go to Subscription Settings > Plans, choose a plan and enter your billing address and payment method.

Workflow 1: set up automations with Segment Management

  1. Go to Segment Management and create segments that group campaigns or products with similar goals, for example hero products, new launches and long-tail items.
  2. Open Automations & Rules for each segment and set the rules you want, such as bid or budget changes tied to performance targets.
  3. Start with one segment rather than the whole account, so you can compare automated and manual results.
  4. The next day, check Adjustment Logs to see exactly which bids and budgets changed. Undo anything that does not fit your strategy and tighten the rule.

Workflow 2: launch a new campaign with Campaign Creator

  1. Open Campaign Creator and choose the products you want to advertise.
  2. Set up the campaign structure and targeting in the creator rather than in the Amazon console.
  3. Use Keyword Management to add keywords and negative keywords, reviewing BidX’s suggestions before accepting them.
  4. Assign the new campaign to a segment so your Automations & Rules apply to it, then watch Adjustment Logs over the first week.

Workflow 3: use BidX Intelligence to review the account

  1. Open the Daily Brief each morning. It lists overnight changes ranked by value, so start at the top.
  2. When something looks odd, ask Chat why the automation made a change. It can explain the reasoning behind adjustments.
  3. Use the agents for focused jobs: Keyword Researcher for new keyword ideas, Paid Search Specialist for Sponsored Ads, Programmatic specialist for DSP and CRO for conversion issues.
  4. Treat their output as recommendations. Check them against your margins and stock before applying, especially for large budget changes. Accounts still on the older “Discover” version of BidX get an upgrade prompt before Intelligence is available.

Tips to get better results

  • Set targets per product, not per account. A single ACOS target hides the difference between high-margin hero products and low-margin add-ons. Segments let you treat them differently.
  • Read Adjustment Logs weekly. Automation is only as good as its rules, and the logs show where a rule is too aggressive.
  • Expect a day’s delay. Changes go to Amazon overnight, so do not judge a new rule on same-day numbers.
  • Run the free tools first. BidX’s Free Audit, TACoS Calculator and Wasted Ad Spend Analyzer give you a baseline before you pay.
  • Get the ad-spend percentage before the demo ends. You need it to compare BidX with flat-fee tools such as Teikametrics Essentials.
  • Use your managed hours. On the managed plans, the strategy calls and support hours are part of the price; book them rather than letting them lapse.
  • Ask precise questions in Chat, for example naming a campaign and a date range, rather than asking generally why sales fell.

Limitations and common problems

  • Cost is hard to predict. The percentage of ad spend is not published, and contracts are annual. Workaround: get a written quote and work out the total at your expected spend.
  • Trial terms conflict. The help centre’s free 5-day trial and the pricing page’s paid three-month proof of concept do not match. Five days is also short for an overnight-bidding tool. Ask sales to confirm the terms in writing.
  • Amazon-first. Walmart is managed-service only, and TikTok Shop is not covered. If you sell across several marketplaces, a multi-channel tool may suit you better.
  • One Amazon account per region by default. Multiple accounts in the same region need a support or agency setup.
  • AI features are new. BidX Intelligence launched in August 2026 and MCP is an invite-only beta. Its pricing was still being finalised at launch, so check whether it is included in your plan.
  • Data goes to an AI provider. BidX’s privacy policy says BidX Intelligence uses Anthropic’s API. The policy does not describe how your Amazon Ads data is used more broadly; ask if this matters to your company.
  • Vendor claims. Figures such as 36% better ROAS after six weeks and 43% more sales after four months are BidX’s own and are not independently verified.

Alternatives

  • Teikametrics - AI bidding and campaign building for Amazon, Walmart and TikTok Shop, with a published flat-fee Essentials plan for smaller sellers.
  • Amazon Ads console - free and fully manual; fine for small catalogues if you have time to manage bids yourself.
  • Helium 10 (Adtomic) - an Amazon seller suite that combines product research with ad automation.
  • Perpetua - retail media optimisation software for brands and agencies.
  • Pacvue - an enterprise retail media and commerce platform for large brands.

Verdict

Sign up for BidX if you are an Amazon brand or agency with a substantial ad budget, run or plan to run Amazon DSP, and want rule-based automation you can audit through Adjustment Logs. The managed plans make sense if you would rather pay BidX staff than hire an in-house PPC manager.

Skip it, or start with BidX Essential, if you spend little on ads, need self-service Walmart or TikTok Shop, or want a price you can see before talking to sales. Whatever you choose, get the ad-spend percentage and trial terms in writing before you sign an annual contract.
