What is Adwisely?
Adwisely is a Shopify app that sets up and runs paid ads for your online store on Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and Google. You install it, connect your ad accounts, pick a target country and a daily budget, and Adwisely’s AI builds the campaigns from your product catalog and keeps adjusting them. It is made by Ad Intelligence Inc, a US company whose Shopify app has been listed since 2015.
Under the hood, Adwisely uses the ad platforms’ own automated campaign types: Meta Advantage+ and Google Performance Max. Its job is to do the setup and ongoing work that trips up most store owners. It builds the product catalog and audiences, generates ad creatives from your product images, titles and descriptions, and shifts budget towards the products that sell. On the higher plan, human Ad Experts build extra custom campaigns and tune the automated ones.
The problem it solves is simple to state. Running Meta and Google ads well takes either a skilled in-house marketer or an agency retainer, and both cost more than many growing stores can justify. Adwisely offers a middle route: automated campaigns for a percentage of ad spend, with optional human help.
Who it is for
- Established Shopify stores without an ads specialist. Adwisely’s homepage recommends it for brands with more than $10,000 a month in sales, and its eligibility rules require real order history.
- Owners who want Meta and Google in one place. One app, one dashboard and one bill cover both channels.
- Brands that want expert help but not an agency. The Concierge plan includes 10 hours a month of hands-on work from Meta and Google Ad Experts.
- Busy founders who would rather set a budget and check results than learn Ads Manager and Google Ads.
It is not a good fit for new stores, which will not meet the order or revenue thresholds; for marketers who want fine control over audiences, placements and creatives, because Adwisely automates targeting and routes many changes through support; or for stores outside Shopify, since eligibility is tied to a paid Shopify plan. Key features
- Meta AI-powered campaign. An Advantage+ campaign built on Adwisely’s Smart Catalog approach, showing your products in Facebook and Instagram feeds and Stories. In April 2026 Adwisely upgraded its older “All Collections” Meta campaigns to Smart Catalog, ahead of Meta pausing the remaining Advantage+ Shopping campaigns.
- Google AI-powered campaign. A Performance Max campaign that reaches Shopping, Search, YouTube, Display and Gmail from one setup.
- Automated targeting. Audience targeting is handled entirely by the AI. You choose the target country; your full catalog is included by default, and you exclude products through support.
- Auto-generated creatives. Ads are built from your product data. You can edit the ad message (the ad text) and choose the main image used in Meta and Google ads.
- Meta Ad Expert and Google Ad Expert. On the Concierge plan, human specialists build custom campaigns and optimise the AI-powered ones. The Shopify listing also mentions an Account Manager.
- Video version for Meta Smart Catalog ads (Beta). Turns product images into short branded video ads of around 8 seconds, in one of three styles. At the time of writing it is Meta-only and limited to Concierge customers.
- Dashboard with budget control and ROAS reporting. One screen to change your daily budget and see return on ad spend for each channel.
Pricing
Adwisely charges a fee of 10% of the ad spend it manages, with a monthly minimum and a monthly cap. Figures below are from the vendor’s pricing page and Shopify App Store listing at the time of writing, in US dollars.
| Plan | Fee | Monthly minimum | Monthly cap | What you get |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Self-Serve | 10% of ad spend | $49 | $3,250 | AI-powered Meta and Google campaigns; email and chat support |
| Concierge | 10% of ad spend | $249 | $3,250 | Everything in Self-Serve, plus dedicated Ad Experts: 10 hours a month of hands-on work (5 hours Meta, 5 hours Google), custom campaigns and an Account Manager |
How the maths works:
- Ad spend is separate. You pay Meta and Google directly for your ads. Adwisely’s fee comes on top.
- The minimum applies at low spend. On Self-Serve, 10% is below $49 until you spend $490 a month on ads, so you pay $49 below that. On Concierge the $249 minimum applies until $2,490 of ad spend.
- The cap applies at high spend. The fee stops rising at $3,250, which you reach at $32,500 a month in ad spend. At $5,000 a month in ad spend, the fee is $500 on either plan.
- Billing. The minimum is charged at the start of the month and the usage fee, based on actual spend, at the end of the period. Each time your accumulated fee reaches $1,000, Adwisely charges $1,000 straight away. The Shopify listing says charges are billed every 30 days.
- Free trial. 7 days, starting from your first Meta or Google campaign (enabled or paused), one per Shopify store. It covers Adwisely’s fee only, not your ad spend.
We found no annual plan, and neither the pricing page nor the billing help article sets out a refund policy, so check with support before committing a large budget.
How to use Adwisely: step-by-step
These steps follow Adwisely’s help centre articles on eligibility, asset sharing and budgets.
- Check that you qualify. You need a paid Shopify plan (not a trial or development store), at least 4 products in stock, and one of: 100+ online orders in the last 90 days, $10,000+ monthly online revenue or $80,000+ annual sales. If you fall short, click Apply for manual qualification on the app’s Home page.
- Install your tracking first. Adwisely requires the Meta Pixel installed through Shopify’s Facebook & Instagram app and the Google tag through Shopify’s Google & YouTube app.
- Install Adwisely. Add it from the Shopify App Store and follow the onboarding flow to connect your store to Meta and Google.
- Share your Meta assets so Adwisely can run campaigns (details below).
- Set your daily budget and let the campaigns go live.
Workflow 1: share your Meta assets with Adwisely
Adwisely’s preferred route is a Leadsie link shown in the app:
- Open the Leadsie link, log in to Facebook and choose the ad account you connected during onboarding.
- Confirm the access request.
If you prefer to do it by hand in Meta Business Settings:
- Go to Users > Partners, select Adwisely and click Share assets.
- Share your ad account with Partial access and Manage campaigns switched on.
- Share your catalog with Full control (Manage catalog) and your pixel with Full control (Manage pixel), then click Save changes.
- Back in Adwisely, tick the “I have…” confirmation box and click Complete the step. The status changes to “On review”, and Adwisely says it checks the access within 24 hours.
Workflow 2: set and change your daily budget
- On the Adwisely dashboard, click Edit next to the budget.
- Enter an amount and click Save changes. The minimum is $10 a day; Adwisely recommends at least $30 a day.
- You can change the budget up to 5 times a day, and only once the campaign is approved and active.
- Change budgets in steps rather than big jumps, and avoid stopping and restarting campaigns. The vendor says the learning phase typically lasts 14 to 30 days, and a restart resets it.
Workflow 3: add a video version to Meta ads (Concierge)
- On the Meta Ads dashboard, click Add video version.
- Pick one of the three styles and click Next.
- Wait for the preview, which Adwisely says takes about 3 minutes.
- Check it and click Add video version to add it to your Smart Catalog ads.
Tips to get better results
- Fix tracking before you launch. Campaigns optimise on pixel and tag data, so make sure purchases are recorded properly in Shopify’s Facebook & Instagram and Google & YouTube apps.
- Start at or above the recommended $30 a day. The $10 minimum gives the AI very little data to learn from.
- Leave the learning phase alone. Judge results after two to four weeks, not after three days, and do not pause and restart.
- Clean up your product data. Ads are generated from your images, titles and descriptions, so clear photos and specific titles show up directly in your ads.
- Exclude products you do not want advertised. Low-margin, out-of-season or low-stock items are included by default; ask support to exclude them.
- Edit the ad message. The default text is generated from your catalog. A line about shipping, returns or what makes your brand different is worth adding.
- Use your Ad Expert’s hours. On Concierge, ask for specific work, such as a campaign for a new collection, instead of changing settings yourself.
- Watch ROAS against your margins. A ROAS that looks healthy can still lose money once product costs, ad spend and the 10% fee are counted.
Limitations and common problems
- Not for new stores. The order and revenue thresholds exclude new stores. Manual qualification exists, but there is no guarantee of approval.
- Shopify only in practice. Eligibility and the trial are tied to a paid Shopify store. The homepage shows BigCommerce and WooCommerce logos, but we could not confirm current support for them.
- Limited control. Targeting is fully automated and product exclusions go through support. If you like to manage audiences and placements yourself, use Meta Ads Manager and Google Ads directly.
- Two channels only. Current plans cover Meta and Google. Adwisely’s about page mentions earlier TikTok work, but TikTok ads are not on the current plan pages.
- Cost scales with spend. At $20,000 a month in ad spend the fee is $2,000 a month. At that level, compare it with an agency retainer or an in-house hire.
- Setup can stall on permissions. Campaigns cannot run until Meta asset sharing is approved. If the step stays “On review”, check that the ad account, catalog and pixel were shared with the right permissions.
- Mixed reviews. At the time of writing, the Shopify App Store listing shows 4.4 stars from 188 reviews, including 20 one-star reviews. Read the recent negative ones before you start.
- Vendor claims. Figures on Adwisely’s site, such as average ROAS by niche and “over $1 billion” in orders for users, are its own and are not independently verified.
- Data use. Adwisely’s privacy policy keeps data for up to a year after you stop using the app unless you ask for deletion, and reserves the right to publish campaign statistics in research and case studies. Ask support if that matters to you.
Alternatives
- Meta Ads Manager and Google Ads directly - no extra fee and full control, but you build and manage Advantage+ and Performance Max campaigns yourself.
- Shopify’s Facebook & Instagram and Google & YouTube apps - free channel apps you need anyway for tracking; they handle catalog sync and basic campaigns but not ongoing optimisation.
- A freelance or agency media buyer - more strategy and creative input, usually for a monthly retainer or a share of ad spend; ask for quotes to compare.
- Teikametrics - if you also sell on Amazon, Walmart or TikTok Shop, it automates marketplace ads rather than Meta and Google.
Once ads bring more traffic, our AfterSell guide covers raising order value with post-purchase offers, and the Unbounce guide covers building landing pages for paid campaigns. For tracking which channel produced each lead, see WhatConverts. Browse the full marketing tools list for more.
Verdict
Sign up for Adwisely if you run an established Shopify store, spend or plan to spend at least a few hundred dollars a month on Meta and Google ads, and do not have the time or skills to manage Advantage+ and Performance Max yourself. The pricing is clear, the setup is short, and the Concierge plan adds real human hours for a $249 monthly minimum.
Skip it if your store is new, if you sell outside Shopify, or if you already run profitable campaigns and want control over every audience and creative. In those cases the 10% fee buys you little you cannot do yourself. Whatever you decide, use the 7-day trial with properly set-up tracking, and judge results only after the learning phase.
Frequently asked questions
How much does Adwisely cost?
At the time of writing, Adwisely charges 10% of the ad spend it manages. The Self-Serve plan has a $49 monthly minimum and Concierge a $249 monthly minimum; both are capped at $3,250 a month. Your ad spend is paid directly to Meta and Google on top of the fee.
Does Adwisely have a free trial?
Yes. There is a 7-day free trial per Shopify store, counted from your first Meta or Google campaign (enabled or paused). It waives Adwisely's fee only; you still pay Meta and Google for the ads that run. Installing the app does not require a credit card.
What are Adwisely's eligibility requirements?
Adwisely's help centre asks for a paid Shopify plan (not a trial or development store), at least 4 products in stock and one of these: 100+ online orders in the last 90 days, $10,000+ monthly online revenue or $80,000+ annual sales. Stores that fall short can apply for manual qualification in the app.
Does Adwisely work with WooCommerce or BigCommerce?
Adwisely's current eligibility rules and free trial are tied to a paid Shopify store. The homepage shows BigCommerce and WooCommerce logos, but we could not confirm that those platforms are supported today, so ask Adwisely support before signing up with a non-Shopify store.
Is Adwisely an agency or software?
Both. The Self-Serve plan is software: Adwisely's AI builds and runs your Meta and Google campaigns. The Concierge plan adds human Ad Experts who spend up to 10 hours a month (5 on Meta, 5 on Google) building custom campaigns and optimising the AI ones.
How long before Adwisely campaigns start working?
Adwisely says campaigns go live within minutes of onboarding, but Meta and Google need a learning phase, which the vendor says typically lasts 14 to 30 days. Stopping and restarting a campaign resets it, so judge results after that period.
